Heritage Days 2008 is shaping up to be the highlight of the coming summer season. We will have some new/recycled events to keep the entire family entertained this year. Our first new item for this year is the Heritage Days Golf Tournament, which will be held Friday June 6, 2008 at the Rock River Golf and Country Club. The Heritage Days weekend festivities will be kicked off by the Crowning of Miss and Little Miss Rock Rapids along with the Whopper feed and pet parade. We will have a community breakfast on Friday morning featuring Dad's Belgian Waffles followed by the street sales at the local merchants. Saturday will shape up fast with the Road Race followed by the Parade, live entertainment on the stage, inflatables for the kids and the big wheel races downtown. We will then move down to Island Park for the Duck Races followed by the Canoe/Bike/Run races. Following the races we will have a community wide picnic dinner before the figure 8 races. After the races head back down to the beverage garden for a street dance featuring Red Edge from 9 to midnight. Sunday will wrap things up with the fly-in breakfast at the airport followed by the community worship service on the courthouse lawn.
