Community Foundation Accepting Grant Applications
The Community Foundation of Lyon County (CFLC), an affiliate of the Siouxland Community Foundation, is accepting grant applications from 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and units of local government. Grant criteria and the online application can be found at www.siouxlandcommunityfoundation.org under the affiliates tab. The deadline for submitting an online application is March 15, 2020.
“The Community Foundation of Lyon County is currently accepting grant applications online” stated Shayne Mayer, CFLC Advisory Board Chair, “CFLC has supported many local nonprofit initiatives including restoration projects, walking trails and much more to better the communities. We encourage Lyon County nonprofits to apply.”
The CFLC will award grants in the following areas:
Arts & Culture
The CFLC Advisory Board is aware that service clubs and organizations have an important role in Lyon County. Even though the Foundation can not make grants directly to service clubs or other non-501(c)(3) organizations, those organizations are encouraged to collaborate with a qualified nonprofit agency on projects or seek a fiscal sponsor.
The CFLC is governed by a local ten-member advisory board composed of representatives from communities in Lyon County. Technical assistance and staff support is provided by the Siouxland Community Foundation which currently works with multiple affiliate Foundations.
Questions about the grant program or online application process may be directed to Katie Roberts, Executive Director, Siouxland Community Foundation at (712) 293-3303.
