City Elections are held every 2 years in November.  Rock Rapids consists of 2 precincts: 7 and 8. Voting for both precincts is at the Forster Community Center. Check the map below to determine which precinct you live in.

To vote in Iowa, one must be a United States citizen, a resident of Iowa, and at least 18 years old by Election Day. The deadline for pre-registration is 10 days prior to the election.

One may register by:

• completing a form and returning it by mail
• in person at the Lyon County Auditor’s Office on the second floor of the Courthouse
• online at https://www.vote411.org.

Registration is permitted on Election Day with proof of identification. Contract the Lyon County Auditor Office’s for what is required to register at the polling site.

Iowa permits no-excuse absentee voting and early voting.  Contact the Lyon County Auditor’s Office for more information at 712-472-8517.

Iowa requires voters to present identification at the polls.
