It was a common sight during the summer in the 1920s and thereafter, to see the popcorn wagon parked on the street and children and adults lined up to purchase a bag of warm popcorn from the friendly popcorn man. Popcorn and conversation went together on a pleasant summer evening and it was also a time for children to see friends and enjoy a spontaneous game of pass and catch.
